Design and Build Quality
When holding the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I know I have a premium phone in my hand. Thanks to its titanium frame, the device feels lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max I traded in. Not to mention, it’s IP68 rated for water and dust resistance.
The 15 Pro Max is large and heavy, making it a challenge for one-handed use, especially with my small hands. It may not fit in some pockets or cases, but the saving grace is the handy MagSafe ring on the back.
Display
The 6.7-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display is one of the best displays I have seen on any smartphone. The phone boasts a resolution of 1290 x 2796 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate that looks silky smooth and feels more responsive.
Boasting an impressive peak brightness of 2000 nits, the iPhone 15 Pro Max shines brilliantly. I certainly didn’t have problems using it under direct sunlight. The phone also sports a Ceramic Shield glass, offering four times more resistance to drops than its predecessors.
Hardware and Performance
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is a true powerhouse, rocking the cutting-edge Apple A17 Pro processor. Opening a bunch of apps feels way smoother, and sometimes, it even outperforms my iPad Pro.
Plus, it’s got 8 GB of RAM and plenty of storage to choose from. I have the 256GB version and trust me; it handles everything like a champ.
Cameras
For me, the main selling point of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the quad-camera system on the back. They can capture stunning photos and videos in any lighting condition.
My go-to setting is the Portrait Mode – a mode for casual photographers. If you want additional creative control, there’s always the ProRAW. On top of that, I use the 12 MP front-facing camera to take amazing selfies and make crystal-clear video calls.
Battery Life and Charging
The Li-Ion 4441 mAh battery may not be as massive as other smartphones, but it’s already pretty good. I set my iPhone 15 Pro Max to 80% optimized charging, and it easily lasts a whole day with moderate use. Some days, I don’t even need to charge until the next day.
I usually recharge my phone once it hits 30% using the 20W charger. I haven’t tried wireless charging with MagSafe or Qi2 and reverse wired charging, though the phone fully supports them.
Software
The iPhone 15 Pro Max runs on iOS 17, the latest and most advanced operating system from Apple. iOS 17 offers a smooth and intuitive user interface and introduces some new features and improvements to enhance the overall iPhone experience.
